Legendary admission into Cordelia's 'Obscure Independent Classics' series - a survey into the smallest nooks 'n crannies of bizarre DIY fridge artists and square peg round hole acts with zero information trace.  Most of the artists, bar co-compiler Yutaka Takana of S-Core, seemingly managed to muster up just a single track for this compilation before vanishing into total obscurity.  Stylistically, each contribution skirts around the edge of post-punk and the classic primitive bedroom lo-fi approach, but Suttee's introspective slow-motion dream 'Blue Rose' is an obvious standout and perfectly captures the mood of the vaporous, moment-in-time feel of the 80's Japanese underground, whilst Quino’s abstract rhythm-box anthem ‘Ein 0041’ is exactly the sort of weirdness you could only hope to find after trawling through endless Japanese Flexi’s.  A total UFO..  (NM/VG+)
