Glasgow’s 12th Isle crew come good with a debut 12” EP from French producer Denis Morin under his Vague Imaginaires guise, channeling the spirit of the ocean and the environment into a serene, dub-dipped, out-of-body experience.A-side sets off with chirping chip-tune melodies washed up in ocean swell that makes for a rich and unexpected textual clash , whilst A2 dives deeper into a purple-hued trip of floating atmospherics.Flipside takes a hit of influence from later dayz Chain Reaction outings, racy, delirium-inducing bass lines in perpetuity - think the bucolic bliss of Halluncinator’s ‘Kilimanjaro’ mixed with the car-chase trance of Monolake’s ‘Magenta’, yet all oddly Balearic and light on its feet.Sound track to the summer that never was / is to be?!Huge 12” even for this lot’s standards..
