Killer dank industrial drum funk from ex-Cabaret Voltaire member Stephen Mallinder here flying solo on his '81 debut EP on Fetish Records. It's frightening how relevant this one sounds today, 'Temperature Drop' is a prowling, ominous drum machine volley with hallowed calls and arching industrial clambers in the background yet its still super sparse with bags of space. However, the prize here on the B-side with the runaway drum-machine strut of 'Cool Down'. It's a perfect piece of early 80's industrial FUNK with this lingering sense of melancholy, effortlessly stylish with wrong speeder options (although I've never been into this one at 33rpm).
