Enduring classical from Meredith Monk with her '83 LP Turtle Dreams on ECM. Minimal in it's execution, the extended title track pairs a stripped back organ motif (performed by Julius Eastman!) with elaborate vocal gymnastics from Monk and her ensemble. It's slow, meditative and patient (just like the turtle). Essential contemporary classical that still gets me every time! (Vinyl & Sleeve VG++).
