Loose-limbed mutant free-funk from Kyoto’s notorious EP-4 led by legendary underground lynchpin Kaoru Sato - Unplayed deadstock!!!
Certainly not the first time we’ve blabbed on about the antics of this unusual and totally singular band and hopefully not the last. This 1984 EP on Telegraph is for us perhaps their best. The B-side cut ‘Five To One’ is a 10 min+ joyride through buoyant low-slung bass lines, ramshackle percussion, deviant electronics and incomprehensible vocals. It feels like the whole thing could unravel at any minute but that interminable high-bass line just keeps it rolling.Elementary Poem is a similarly hotch-potch of clashing percussion and rickety percussion that again balances total chaos with astonishingly tight musicianship. If anyone really needed any more proof to understand Kaoru Sato’s genius as a producer, this one is really it.A guaranteed riot when played out.Just a handful of unplayed stock copies (!!) (Mint / New - 1 per person!!)
