Comprehensive, self-compiled collection dating back through various nooks + crannies of Terre Thaemlitz sprawling and more club-focused material. ESSENTIAL.. (Mint / New)
DJ Sprinkles is pleased to announce Gayest Tits & Greyest Shits: 1998-2017 12-inches & One-offs, a double-CD set compiling all of her solo releases to date besides "Midtown 120 Blues." Self-released on Comatonse Recordings with custom packaging hand assembled by Terre herself, the package includes two CDs in an archival vinyl pouch with two double-sided insert cards (100mm x 100mm), phonograph style anti-static inner sleeves, and 4x4 panel poster insert printed on newsprint (472mm x 472mm).
All of DJ Sprinkles' vinyl EP's are collected here - including the long out-of-print "Sloppy 42nds: A tribute to the 42nd Street transsexual clubs destroyed by Walt Disney's buyout of Times Square" and "Bassline.89" - along with all of her one-off compilation tracks, self-remixes related to Terre Thaemlitz projects, and more. (The only track missing is the long vocal version of "Useless Movement" from "The Laurence Rassel Show", which regretably was too long to fit on this compilation. However, both the Radio Edit and Dub versions are included here, and the long vocal version is still in stock separately on the original CD and vinyl.)
For the Sprinkles collectors out there looking to scratch an itch, the Comatonse Shop offers a specially priced three-item collector's bundle of Gayest Tits & Greyest Shits, "Midtown 120 Blues" and Will Long's "Long Trax," giving you Sprinkles' complete solo catalog plus a hefty dose of remix work filling the entire second disc of Will's album. (For the hard-core queer deep house enthusiasts, scroll down the order form and add a copy of K-S.H.E's "Routes not Roots" French Skylax edition while we still have copies - another one of Sprinkles' aliases - to further flesh out the underground faggotry.)
And for the vinyl fetishists already composing your emails complaining about how this is only available on CD, please spare us your shade. Sprinkles holds by her opinion that CD sounds better: less noise, greater spectral range, wider stereo field (especially regarding bass), etc. These are literally direct duplicates of her original digital master recordings. You can't get better than that on any format. Trust us. In fact, these recordings are so clear you can sometimes hear the crackle of other vinyl sampled when making these tracks.
