It’s taken a little long that expected for this one to land, let’s blame the usual struggle with a certain unnamed courier, alas any tension has been instantly and fully abated by the deep, quietly epic, long-form mind-trips laid out here by CS + Kreme.Billed as an epilogue to 2020’s chart-topping (rightly so!) Snoopy 2LP, howwouldyoufeelwithoutthatthought extrapolates the seductive, hypnogogic atmospherics of their full length, with the hypnotic 16-minute raga of ‘April Fool’s Day’ where Conrad’s bass guitar languidly meanders its way through hovering pitch-bend Cello notes and a chirping, tick-tok drum-machine strut.‘Bugged’ on the flip is equally as immersive, propelled by high bass notes immersed in a swarming, intoxicating collage of kalimba and drone drift before dropping down into a properly stoned downbeat with big chill-out room energy.Quietly mesmerising and certainly much more than an optional add on to their Snoopy saga - Trilogy Tapes wins 2020..
