Sonic sports massage for the brain!

It’s been a while since we’ve been put through the mangle by this kinda musical muck flinging.  It turns out Madrid-local Pablo Mirón is one half of Miradasvacas, the duo responsible for that fractured broken music-y LP put out by 12th Isle.  Here he applies his collage techniques to a 1 hour DJ mix, originally conceived as a trilogy for LYL radio in France.  It’s a wild splatter of scorched arpeggios and scrappy sonic detritus, overlaid with blistering free-jazz assaults, creating something of an overwhelming auditory sermon.  We thought we were relatively well-up on obscure experimental music of the last 30 years but we’re blissfully confused by all of this.  A genuinely feral un-shazamble hotchpotch of fiercely challenging music.  What a treat.  (Mint / New - with free DL)
