In-house occasional mixtape series Tabi Tapes turns TEN with a meandering journey of nocturnal dream song and homespun folk from French master-selector and Idle Press boss DJ Sundae.
Sometimes a mixtape can change everything. DJ Sundae’s now legendary Sky Girl compilation (compiled with Julien Dechery) opened people to the world of micro-genre, micro-edition songs - basked in golden hour nostalgia and feelings of fuzzy melancholy. So much so, that we actually can’t imagine life without it. It’s part of our everyday. Sundae’s selections here demonstrate that his well for this stuff will never run dry. It’s expertly sequenced - some songs you might know, some you probably don’t - capturing a mood or a place that might feel familiar.
