Besides her solo work Bridget Hayden has been a member of Vibracathedral Orchestra, The Telescopes and occasionally Sunburned Hand of the Man, and last appeared on FEF in collaboration with Claire Potter on Mother To No Swimming Laughing Child. This is her first new solo material to emerge in several years, soon to be followed by a solo LP and a duo record with Double Leopards' Marcia Bassett. This album sees Hayden largely setting aside guitar in favour of the Clef kit synth for a set of lo-fi bluesy laments, immersed in a murky but potent atmosphere. Each copy includes unique cover art in the form of a section of one of five A3 paintings by the artist. (NM/NM)
