Rare debut EP from Simon Fisher Turner and Colin Lloyd-Tucker’s Jeremy’s Secret project, released in 1983 via SFT’s very short-lived private label Papier Maché.  It came around the same time the duo were releasing as Deux Filles - a short-lived, reclusive arthouse projected centered around two fictional French girls that managed to chalk up just two albums of shimmering, Woo-like, whimsical ambient-pop before disappearing into the ether.  There’s a stylistic overlap with this Jeremey’s Secret - glistening, heavily processed guitar picks flicker underneath lightheaded synthetics and phase-shifted vocals, chiselled into fanciful, atmospheric art song.  Fleeting moments recall The Durutti Column, whilst the homey DIY feel evokes the above-mentioned Woo, although it’s clear that production asthetic carries a heavy Eno influence.  Allegedly the full frontal nudity on the cover (here censored, naturally) was too much for the general population in the early 80’s which led to many copies being destroyed, hence the scarcity.. nice little hand-written note from Simon Fisher Turner included too!  Cool record… (VG+/VG+)
