Reality-perforating aural hodgepodge from Kiran Sande’s post Blackest Ever Black / Low Company stable Lost Domain.  New riddles to unravel.

An air of mystery hangs of this new transmission from the cryptic Seraphim unit, loosely referred to ‘group whose personnel are unknown to each other’.  It checks in as this shapeshifting sequence often feels like a game of musical pass the parcel.  Hovering ambient passages gently give way to a strange Steeleye Span interlude (it’d be too kind to call it a sample), where the 4th wall breaks and we’re treated to some heavy-handed pitch shifting and Lambkin-esque clatter in the background.  It’s not really clear who or what we’re listening to, or specifically why, but I’m locked in nonetheless.  There’s echos within of that Wino Ket LP record from a little while ago, both in its namesake dissociative qualities and in the manner in which reality drifts in and out of focus.  Elsewhere smudged studio scraps tee-up a killer Dean Blunt styled guitar/rhythm box skit whilst the ghostly ballad on the B-side (Nico?) catches us totally off-guard before degrading into espionage electronic passages that split the difference between elements of Werkbund and the beatless atmospheric breakdowns of 90s jungle records.  Much like the fatiguing and over-stimulating experience of wandering around our nation’s capital, London Is Tired of Me serves up sequence of seemingly disconnected experiences, leaving us to make sense of them with an increasing disconnect in consensus reality.  Worthy of deep investigation.  (Mint / New)
