Stockport… known around the world for the infamous hat museum, Strawberry Studios, the glorious redbrick viaduct and now.. this mixtape. Recorded upstairs at the shop on a dreary autumn evening, the eighth instalment to our own in-house occasional mixtape series comes via Regional Bears and Tom of this establishment. We’re serving hard collaged sound ramshackled together across three wonky turntables and an off-brand mixer, taking the kitchen sink / more is more approach and properly indulging ourselves in our favourite Folkways Records, crude sound-art 7”s, grailed musique concrete releases and marginal sound poetry pieces, all collided together into a disorientating, boredom-busting, frequency-scanning mess. But it has its moments and falls nicely in line with the blooming Tabi Tapes aesthetic, whatever that actually is. No tracklist unfortunately as we’re both struggling to identify what anything actually is, but digital is included for listening on the go. Didn’t make many of these! (Mint / New - with DL)
