We’re really happy to snag more copies of Jon Collin’s Two Dream Sequences (ep) release after only managing to grab a handful from the man himself after the party at the store back in December. Trapped somewhere between home improv and an environmental recording, the two pieces blend the intentional sounds of the outside world with an attempt at unconscious music playing - imagine deep, quivering string drones, wafts of harmonica and buried psych squeal mingling naturally with the sound of traffic outside and your next door neighbour drilling into the wall. I’ll admit it’s close to embarrassing now how much we go on about Jon’s work but when he flips into this mode it’s totally arresting, goosebump-inducing anaesthesia and probably our favourite release of his so far - which is saying something.. (Mint / New)

"These two sides were recorded at home in Stockholm in April last year, and are part of a series of recordings that I was making around that time that I called dream sequences for a number of reasons but partly because they mixed attempts at unconscious playing of music with intentional recordings of external sounds e.g. drilling through walls, street noise, that were affecting my consciousness at the time of recording. Also I like dreams but not so much talking about them." - Jon Collin
