Mythical 7” on the Unbalanace label from Yoran - a beautifully blurred, obfuscated and endlessly enchanting daydream trip through an imaginary post-war Paris.
It’s not clear if Yoran ever actually made it to the French capital, but their enigmatic sound collage captures the whimsical romance the the city. Bizarre wilting melancholia and faded decadnace through rough snippets of French cinema, erratic vocals, stretched strings and quaint chimes all cracked, crumbling and baked in tape hiss. Possibly the most cryptic release from the boundless Japanese underground. Just perfect. (NM)
