Lancastrian legend Jon Collin continues his prolific output via his Early Music private press, now under the moniker ‘Early Music’ which we think is here to stay. Each production from Collin feels like a natural manifestation of a continuing conversation between himself, his instruments and nature. I’m envious of how content Collin appears to be with his artistic practice. Understated and deeply affecting, hammered dulcimer dances around the slosh of a river and chirping birdsong. Warbler is up there with one of his most mesmerising recordings (there are many). Very special music and not to be taken for granted. (Mint / New)
