Rejoice! The holiest of holy and feverishly sought after UK ambient techno grails FINALLY back in print via the original Likemind label. Active for just a few years between ’93 - ’96 Nurmad Jusat, better known as Nuron / Fugue, contributed a string of tracks to the short-lived but massively influential Likemind label before disappearing off the grid, allegedly to race formula 1 cars in Malaysia - is this actually true?? Stylistically, Nuron’s tracks ran deeper than label mates Stasis, Redcell, As One ++, joining the dots between deep space electro, classic Detroit techno, Black Dog-esque IDM and cementing the ‘classic’ UK techno sound that’s associated with B12 / A.R.T / New Electronica and so many more. Tracks such as ‘Madam 6’, ‘Contrapoint’ and ‘Interlagos’ are truly faultless in their application of wide-open, dream-laced soundscapes and non-linear drum-programming enriched with a deep sense of human emotion. A masterpiece.. there are no words!!! (NM)
