Intense cerebral deep tissue massage from pioneering American composer David Tudor for the sainted Lovely Music label.  Despite its namesake and releasing a huge amount of unfathomably pretty music, not all the Lovely music was what we’d typically call lovely.  Tudor’s circuit bending electronics were recorded in 1970s and is comprised of various fidgety electronic pulses that splutter at various intervals, eventually interlocking into a strange hypnotic cadence before Taj Mahal Traveller Takahisa Kosugi arrives with his electrified violin and casts the piece into the stratosphere.  Due to the very basic raw elements employed here, it’d be fair to classic this piece as early minimalism, yet the quite confrontational textures and absolute atonality of the music distances itself from the shiny worlds of Glass, Reich ++.  An immerse masterpiece of rough, raw home-brewed electronics.  Rare!!!
