Shockingly undervalued LP from Finish artist Bandi Ifgray with his second full-length for Jimi Tenor's Sähkö label off-shoot Puu with the Stargazer LP. As with all the outings on this label, the sound is completely singular - a visionary fusion of odd-ball lounge jazz and subtle avant-garde electronics with pop (!) sensibilities. Seriously Jimi Tenor is a true genius at work here; he features on 'Sirens' - think Martin Denny exotica vibraphone meets distilled ticking minimal drum machine straight outa Vainio's playbook. The late-night sleaze of 'Ears' is also worth a check; more sparse drum work with squirming, panning synth action and murmured vox. Never leaves the bag kinda record.. recommended. (NM)
