Blown-out explorations into the Viennese underbelly via the blooming A.T.C label.
Label head Kobermann returns with a cast of local associates, mostly all new names to us, clustering a varied batch of styles / sounds that skirt round the very edge of the dance floor and bleeds out into the aether. The title ‘Dunstkreis’ or ‘Haze Circle’ for the non-Deutsch speakers, captures it beautifully, with Voyage Futur’s mellow Rhodes chord opener and the cosmic smog of Blacklight Chameleon fogging out the room. Sparing partners and regular ANF favourites Kobermann & Akrüül each offer moments of fully-extrapolated rhythm tracks, the later with a perfectly suspended dull thud that hangs in the air. The standout though is newcomer Dao Forecast Program, whose piece channels the inner-demons of the after-after-after hours with super strung-out ring-modulated chug amidst plumes of green mist, whilst Radio Liaisons closer smoothers a cracked Chet Baker loop and disintegrates into nothingness. A brave and exciting snapshot into a local scene with clearly much to offer. (Mint / New - shop pls ask for wholesale).
