Secluded Stockport-based producer Echium returns to Sferic after presenting the label with their inaugural release with the second full-length LP entitled 'Disruptions Of Form'. It's a work of sonic sculpture, taking influence from the environment and the behaviour of sounds within it to form an intricately processed microcosm take pays homage to the elements. Echium's signature aquatic dub-scapes provide the bedrock of the release, allowing layers upon layers of meticulously processed sound to be placed within, whilst still maintaining an awareness of space and depth. It takes a collage approach, blending varying textures both hard and soft, skilfully sculpting a detailed sonic landscape that pays homage to the dense, glitch-laden sound-worlds laid out previously by the likes of Vladislav Delay and Pole, yet always keen to advance the blueprint, facing forward with the incorporation of more synthetic elements. Truly another vital release from the now steamrolling Sferic imprint and a reminder of the sure-footed direction it's progressing. (Mint / New).
