Legendary Italian sound-art edition from Merano-born artist, designer, visual artist and all-round polymath Marcello Jori published via the iconic Fluxus / avant-garde institution Edizioni Morra - unplayed late 70’s deadstock !

Established in 1974 by Giuseppe Morra to document the emerging international avant-garde Fluxus movement, Studio Morra sought to capture the the subversive potential of the movement, specially Viennese Actionism and Body Art (with artists like Hermann Nitsch), whilst the Radiotaxi splinter series documented the sound-poetry scene from artists like Bernard Heidsieck, Philip Corner, Henri Chopin and Dieter Roth’s Selten Gehörte Musik unit.  This late 70s edition from Marcello Jori is a tale of two halves.  The A-side is a conceptual collage piece where Jori focuses on Czech composer’s Bedřich Smetana’s formidable symphonic orchestral work ‘Moldau’.  As the piece seeks to to evoke the flow of the mighty Vltava River, Jori set off to record the actual river and surrounding area itself, blending the field recordings with the rousing classical passages.  It sort of works as a hijacked or subverted rendition of the dynamic piece, returning it to its homeland and asking questions related to time, space and origin.  Beautifully contrasting, the B-side piece ‘"O Positi Sub Terra Numina Mundi…” is a tranquil, minimalistic passage for the harp.  Taking influence from a segment of Roman Poet Ovid’s 8 CE poem Metamorphoses, it’s an elegantly spaced, soporific movement that seems seems to go everywhere and nowhere all at once, infusing the space it inhibits with a sense of calm and tranquility.  In reverence to the cherished design of the original Radiotaxi series, we’ve designed and screen-printed our own version of the original to house the original disc.  Owed to the niche nature of this and quite laborious nature of putting them together, we don’t have many.  (Mint / New - OG deadstock with special screen printed ANF tribute sleeve - 1 per person pls)
