Self-released 7" from shadowy London silo Xvarr, comprised of both archival and fresh material. Masterfully strung-out / red-eye minimal synth with enough subtle menace to keep you on edge without over egging it, co-conspirator Egypte Erotique lends her woozy vocals to the sedate drum programming on Unveiled to cement the already sinister atmosphere, whilst 'Empurpled Sperm' (that's in the EOY raffle for track title of the year) broods over sweeping arpeggios. Personal highlight goes to 'Shadows' on the otherside though, which manages to out Coil Coil - proving that nothing is more effected with eerie synth atmospheres, bubbling phasered percussion and 4th wall dissolving, perfectly enunciated British dialogue. Just get the feeling this'll be one that people will be desperate to grip in the future. Great little 7"...(mint / new)
