Having battled its way through systemic Hermes logistical failures and a national pandemic, the inaugural release on promising new London label Whip+Lash hath finally landed. It's duo Weird Weather (Going Good / NTS) that gets things underway, with three fine rhythm-driven cuts that yoke together scuzzy hardware experiments, dance-floor chug and industrial textures with striking ease. A-side title track finds bubbling momentum against subdued, sorta gamelan melodies, followed by 'Paint' (heads up anyone who's been train spotting that recent Jon K tape) which dives deeper with its grittier approach and rough synth lacerations, whilst B2 find a heavily masticated and spewed out version of the former.
