Another vital and visionary reissue from Freedom To Spend, here reviving the 1985 cassette Music And Poetry Of The Kesh from respected author Ursula K. Le Guin and West Coast sound designer and composer Todd Barton. Initially bundled in with copies of Le Guin's book 'Always Coming Home', this one really puts the phrase otherworldly into a new context, with Le Guin literally inventing a new language (Kesh) and Banton summoning up new sounds from purpose build instruments. Its essentially an anthropological study of an invented pagan society and their culture, expressed through words and music that joins the dots between minimalistic sound design, sacred avant-folk and audio-poetry with a Celtic feel. It's definitely worth planting yourself in this enchanted microcosm for an afternoon (or longer). (Mint / Sealed).
