Two pieces of fine FM (Frequency Mangling) synthetic pop on this unassuming self-released 7” from the typically amorphous and tricky to pin down Trii (also known as TRJJ, TRJ+++) together with recent label collaborator Hipólito. A-side piece ‘Circuli’ deals in queasy, modulating tones together with effected singing and synthetic percussion - sorta like if Hematic Sunsets was having a crack at the top 40, whilst ‘Timer’ anchors into a more structured rhythm amidst a swarm of odd electronic overtones. It’s all frighteningly up to date and paired with brilliantly ambiguous artwork that gives nothing away - Limited obviously!! (Mint / New)
