Incredible soundtrack work composed by long-standing British musician Simon Fisher Turner for Derek Jarman's 1986 film re-telling the life of Italian painter Caravaggio.  In fitting with the painter's style, the music is appropriately baroque with harpsichord, lute and flamenco guitar, giving the slightly medieval feel.  In between the looping pieces there's atmosphereic moments of falling rain and clattering thunder evoking the scene of darkest 16th century Naples.  Never a huge fan of OST stuff but this one works alone aside from the context of the film, with some parts reminding of that incredible Lithuanian ethno-folk LP by Zenklas X.  (NM/NM).
