Another crucial instalment to PTV's killer Themes series on this 12" offering. A-side is dedicated to the title track 'Unclean' - easily (for me at least) one of the finest pieces from this erratic lot. A proper noisy, STOMPING, droning number with this incessant, repetitious drive amidst slabs of piercing guitar fuzz, clamorous piano keys and Gen's drugged vox moving around in the L <--> R field. BIG track. Turning over there's some respite in the airy piano piece 'Mirrors', which is a contrast to the previous tumult although that's what's so great about this Theme series - the contrast! Last up semi-hidden track (not listed on this copy) 'Unclean Monks', which is Genesis' ecclesiastical chants on top of each other. Iconic 12"! (NM / NM - top copy!!).
