Much-loved and widely-heralded debut LP from Detroit producer John Beltran under his rarely utilised Placid Angles moniker with this 1997 debut on UK techno powerhouse Peacefrog. In keeping with the themes laid out on his adorned classic 'Ten Days Of Summer', Beltran manages to touch upon levels of human emotion rarely seen within the genre, merging intricate drum programming with lush-pads, yearning vocals, warm chords and crisp, future-facing melodies into a rich and unforgettable listen. Although for all its emphasis on the feels, there's moments of tough, complex production that are perfectly suited for the club (as it is drowning your sorrows home alone at the weekend), heavily playing on and perfectly executing that juxtaposition of hard and soft. Without a doubt one of the finest LPs to emerge from that fertile period when techno turned in on itself and Peacefrog could do no wrong. Highest recommend.. (NM/NM).
