Dizzying second LP cooked up by Oakland's clandestine Poison Gas Research laboratory.  Ignore the iffy name, PGR is an under-appreciated project within the fields of DIY experimental sound, a dark ambient take on west-coast psychedelia.. the estranged love child of Steven Stapleton and Ken Kesey.  The Flickering Of Sowing Time is an astral projection through windswept soundscapes littered with odd fragments of found sound and drifting voices / radio-play that twists and turns, heavily layered and detailed.  Probably meant to be a soundtrack for a long-forgotten arthouse film, but works equally well detached from its context (create ur own!).. alleged banned by Rough Trade for the racy cover.. oh how times have changed.  High recommends and excellent entry point into the pretty impenetrable world of sound collage..
