HUGE debut LP from Polish avant-garde frontrunners Ossian with this 1975 self-titled LP on state label Polskie Nagrania Muza. Still flying unfathomably low under-the-radar, everything this lot put out is killer - a potent and beautifully realised ethno-fusion of eastern and western musical styles with spiritual undertones that finds that rare sweet-spot between conceptually challenging but also incredibly easy on the ears. Whilst it's better to just sit back to enjoy this one rather than listen to my waffle, there's deep percussive passages mixed with hand-drumming, tabla and flutes, it's a REAL trip and despite being tipped by many-a-digger, including Chee's amazing Obscure Sound book - still very nicely priced! Highest recommend. (Vinyl & Sleeve VG+++ // closer to NM on this copy).
