A confirmed modern classic from Aussie multi-instrumentalist Oren Ambarchi, here pressing up his '06 piece Grapes From The Estate on his own Black Truffle label. Suffice to say there's A LOT of time for Oren's output here at HQ, with the fearsome quantity and quality of his output more or less unmatched within his field. This one patiently explores the soothing qualities of soft, rounded harmonic tones, electronically-processed guitar notes and other mixed percussion to produce an intimate, mollifying sound-world away from home. Struggling to put all-time heart-melter 'Remedios The Beauty' into any sort of words or context, it's long-form pacifying tones gradually morphing and giving way to soft jazz brushes and string plucks. Infinitely better to be heard than read about - incredible music. (NM/NM).
