Two of the finest pieces of dusty, tripped-out psychedelic dub-techno on this essential and unassuming EP from NWAQ aka Ross 154 aka Newworldromantic. A-sider 'Iniquities Den' funnels the dub essence of Basic Channel into a EPIC 18 minute voyage of heady tape hiss, skipping drums and drifting rhythms, which given the fact this was originally released in 1996 (!!) on the pricer Strike EP, seriously predates the whole 'Lo-Fi' techno aesthetic. 'Spirit' on the flip is equally essential, a swirling mass of icy overtones and a wandering beat that moves in and out of focus. If there's a better techno 12" for under a tenner I'd like to know!
