High watermark 12" on the still somewhat overlooked UK broken beat label People with this debut offering form Kaidi Tatham side project Misa Negra. A-side 'Afronaught Dub' plunges in and unfolds super-loose jangling percussion over a heavily swung disjointed grooves with stuttering drum hits and lax shakers holding it all together.. all great. However! The 'Original Repise' that follows is on another planet altogether.. flipping the whole thing into eastern rainforest mode and slowly building over distant whispers, aching flutes and xylophone melodies to an almighty neck-snapping release. Urghhh, never gets old. Big 12"!... (NM/NM).
