Killer minimal dark-wave from criminally overlooked all-female German outfit Malaria! A favourite of the late John Peel (which more or less is the highest accreditation), Malaria!'s stripped bare, austere sound is highly infectious and dare I say groovy, check 'Your Turn To Run' with the killer delay FX on vocals and drums. The A-side cut 'Zarah' is a more drunken, booze-soaked affair that lacks the deadly sting of the above mentioned cut, whilst 'Duschen' boasts a more frantic, speed-induced runaway drum strut. In all, New York Passage EP is the perfect entry point to one of the most interesting and frighteningly cool groups to emerge out of early 80's Berlin. (NM/VG+ - with corner cut)
