Second solo hit from one half of Brannten Schnüre- the ghosts of old Europe roam free..
In keeping with the self titled debut earlier this year, Christian Schoppik aka Läuten der Seele dredges up ethereal, sepia-shaded memories of the past through his instrumental atmospheric collage works.Classical strings are stretched out to reveal their inner weeping qualities, leaving a syrupy base for plaintive organ passages and mysterious half-heard archaeological hubbub. Here we’re presented with two long form tracks per side and It really feels like Schoppik has come into his own by weaving and stitching his way through the collected musical fragments, but its when his own subtle instrumentation blends into the samples where it all comes to life.A gentle clarinet to reinforce the intensity of gently swelling emotion or a flute comes in and lifts the whole piece, blending the worlds of old and new into a state of existential bliss.. really special.(Mint / New)
