All time classic! An iconic knocking of heads from Hassell & Eno resulting in an LP that coined the 'Forth World' genre. It's an exercise in contemplative listening with woozy, meditative notes from Hassell's heavily effected trumpet coalescing with delicately minimal, primitive rhythms and very subtle electronics. I'm REALLY resisting using the term world-music here (oopss), but the influence and inspiration drawn from non-western (mainly sub-Saharan Africa) music is so obvious, be it in the track-titles ('Burundi Cloud' and the Sudanese co-ordinates) or the rhythms that underpin each piece, although it's definitely a nomadic piece of art that belongs to no real country, completely out on its own. Still untouchable to this day.
