Privately released cassette of other otherworldly overtone chanting from respected British voice teacher and author Jill Purce. Living and studying with Stockhausen in the early seventies, Purce developed her early ideas about sound and its effect on matter before fully refining her complex throat singing (khöömii) techniques in the Himalayas with Tibetan and Mongolian monks trained in the ancient art. It's a real head-melter, with two continuous sustained notes being produced by the voice at once, harmonically interacting to produce a drone that is mystical, meditative and quite unsettling. The tape contains an in-depth interview with Purce about some of her more spiritually-inclined ideas about the metaphysical affects of sound on the body, as well as group and solo chanting.
