Ghédalia Tazartès – Diasporas
Label: Dais Records – DAIS 021
Format: Vinyl, LP, Album, Numbered, Reissue, Remastered
Genre: Rock, Folk, World, & Country
Highly underground, cult release of the avant-garde originally privately released on French imprint Cobalt in '79, the nomadic Tazartes' singular approach to 'music' literally sounds like NOTHING else, fusing demonic howling with ancient Parisian folk, tape loops and more to create this once in a lifetime audio document that even led to 'Diasporas' being included on the notorious NWW list from Steve Stapleton - a sort of who's who of highly obscure, challenging, paradigm-defining experimental music. I'll be the first to admit that this one definitely isn't for everyone but anyone with an appetite for exotic, electro-acoustic sound, guttural Tibetan chanting and demanding sonic-art could do worse than trying to wrap their heads around this one. Mysterious, enigmatic and arcane, this one continues to live in the hearts of people never satisfied with the norm. Approach with caution :). (DIAS '11 repress / Vinyl & Sleeve NM / With insert).
