The sound of the future, yesterday? Sought-after, time-travellin' '83 French library HEATER from Fred Manda, here projecting the sound of space-exploration imagined through 80's synthesisers with the Solaris LP on RCA Media. It's so good, exactly what you what out of a library LP.. minimal synths, interesting textures, a range of tempos and most importantly not brutally dated, which this one isn't... just. The stripped-back, crisp drum programming provokes dance-floor play, yet some of the more gleaming, atmospheric pieces (purposed for 'anxiety' + 'decisive ending') would be very-much at home soundtracking 'The Zone' in Tarkovsky's Staker. Move over Artemyev! Undoubted highlights - the crisp, short 'n sweet electro-fusion of 'Incantation' and glacial drum-machine chugga 'Cartoon In Kartoum'. VERY reluctant sale. (Vinyl & Sleeve VG+).
