DJ Python slips out his 2nd full length for Anthony Naples’ and Jenny Slattery’s Incienso imprint with Mas Amable, a perfect run of dembow rhythm seamlessly integrated with lush textures, field-recordings and shifting atmospherics that make for an immersive, time-dilating journey. Whole thing patiently unfolds on its own terms, with elements emerging and dissolving almost unnoticeably, whilst the tough percussive core stands firm - deep reggaeton! Like all the best long players of this sort with erm, 'narrative' (eugh), the experience is ultimately more valuable than this limp lexical pulling-apart, but to bestow some high praise, I'd happily have this one sat at the table with Dozzy's 'K', the Voices From The Lake LP or even, Scion's Arrange And Process BC Tracks. Said it! Sacred reference points that aren't wheeled out lightly, but the Python man has done something very original here. Top recommends.. (NM/NM) .
