Seldom seen debut LP from German musician Günther Beckers and Özkan Yalkinoglu, here combining on 1980 LP Greetings, privately released on Becker's MM imprint. There's definitely hints of ECM in this, it's contemporary jazz with a twist and the twist is it's purely minimal guitar, playing in tandem with each other. It's so listenable and inoffensive it almost offends me but its really catchy and the musicianship is pretty incredible. It's different to the 'Colours (Instead Of Paintings)' and Walkman LP in that it's a live recording taken from a Gallery (assuming in Germany), although the sound is crystal clear. Definitely one for the string purists. ((VG+/VG+)
