Obscure, privately released 1987 debut from Swiss artist Andreas Hofer gets the reissue via Second Thoughts / Platform 23 records. Struggling to dredge up any info on Hofer, seemingly self-releasing just this full length 'Feuer Auf Dem Dach Der Welt' and a 7" with some of the same material - which is a shame because it's fucking mind-blowing. The tracks are short and too the point - instrumentals centred around stripped-back deadpan guitar riffs with occasional minimal hand-druming, drum-machines or other very non-intrusive percussion. It's ice-cold throughout, equally recalling the cyclical / proto-industrial string skits of Alessandro Alessandroni as it does the odd, harmonised metallic rhythms of Mechthild Von Leusch and so much more in-between.
