Released original in 1987, Underground was produced a fresh and expressive new album with adventurous intentions from Maki Asakawa. It was produced by Bobby Watson and ranges from heavy funk to spoken word pieces, sentimental synth ballads and proto-house music love songs. It would be easy to imagine someone like Hunee dropping 'TOW (Towing Love Song)' to a crowd of ravers during an all night long set at Phonox, but you're just as likely to hear something like 'Like A Book' in a trendy London listening bar.
