A monster set focusing on the output of Romanian experimental composer Costin Miereanu, featuring all four of the French Poly-Art records. Miereanu's work, whilst underpinned by fierc compositional academia, is remarkably erm.. nice. Or easy on the ear at least. Strand-out 'Carrousel' is 18 minutes of pure microtonal levitation - synthetic yet warm, hallucinatory and endless. Whilst Dervies on the other-hand lays down densely layered drone-work that is utterly engulfing. It's a thick sound-field, compounding down textures and almost static sound to form a heavily concentrated psychoacoustic expanse. Seriously some of the most enchanting and absorbing electronic music of the last 50 years.... (Mint / New - 1 per person).
