Bizarre and charming chameleon-like debut LP from French-Argentinian singer / producer Luna Maria Cedrón aka Fiesta En El Vacio.  A major future classic come out of nowhere.

It’s been a while since a record given us exactly what we didn’t even realise we really wanted.  Fiesta En El Vacio’s (a new name to us) self-titled debut is exactly that.  An effortless hyper-fusion of icy cold-wave, synthetic flamenco waltz, lo-fi concrete poetry, French art-punk and beautifully affecting vocal moments.  Much like the beloved Nina Harker LP, it’s music that’s right of the now - a knotted disorientating web of multiple languages (at least Spanish, French, Korean) genres, feelings and moods that wears its tradition / influence on the outside yet rewires it into something unmistakable new.  Has there been a better musical synonym in recent times that reflects the beautifully hotchpotch post-internet society of 2023?  Exactly what we need.  (Mint / New - with DL)
