Much-loved, take-yer-breath-away collaboration between French free-folk power couple Brigitte Fontaine and Areski Belkacem together forming a fruitful allegiance with the prolific Art Ensemble Of Chicago on '69 LP Comme À La Radio.  It's such a potent allegiance between these artists, a combining that's more than the sum of its parts, with the American free-jazz roots of The Art Ensemble Of Chicago nicely tempered against Areski's North-African influence and Fontaine's loose, arhythmic  vocal poetry.  It's a combination that could easily unravel yet each musician respects the space, letting the whole thing  b r e a t h e.  Seriously this stuff sucks you in to the point where its all you want to listen to (for me at least!), an entire sonic universe in itself.  Untouchable record!  (NM)
