Composed wayyy back in 1977 exists where emergent technology and natural sounds intercept - it’s a painstakingly intricate collage of affected found sound and manipulated vocal motifs that turns our brains to porridge.With today’s easy access to digital recording methods and samplers, it’s frightening to even begin to understand how this was constructed.Just laborious crude tape-splicing techniques and very early sound design methods which are alarming prescient for the time.Much like the indomitable Groupe De Recherches Musicales in France, we’re always mesmerised at the brave turns early experimental musicians were starting to take in the late 70’s, so the fact that this was coming out of a university in York is almost too good to be true.Big one!(NM.NM)
