Incredible recording of eccentric Polish jazz outfit and shop favourites Osjan on this '88 release Rytuał Dźwięku I Ciszy. It's a total percussive deluge, shifting between moments of rapturous, ecstatic hand-drumming and more mellow, boarding on devotional chanting. Some of the other Osjan bits that have appeared on here were noted for bluring the east / west boundaries whereas this one feels more improvised and feels looser. Definitely best consumed in one big gulp, yet the lonely 12-string (?) finger-picked guitar piece 'Razem' particularly stands out, as does the slowly unfolding freakout 'W Stronę Światła' on the B-side. Great record! (Vinyl & Sleve NM - great copy!)
