Mertens and Steenkiste are two of Belgium's premier guitar wranglers. The collaborative recordings on Underneath the Valley are composed of rich, dense drones. Lulling guitar tones are soon engulfed by crashing waves of cymbal, slowly becoming a torrent of guitar feedback/density. A brief break, melody and air. Soon to be overpowered again by the guitar drone/squall. Brilliant stuff!
